Car plows through QEW barrier in Mississauga

A woman has serious injuries after she crashed her car into a wall near the QEW in Mississauga.
Toronto police say the woman was driving south on Dixie Road around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, when she lost control of her car and struck a barrier wall on the north side of the QEW.
A large section of the wall, which divides North Service Road from the QEW at Dixie, was knocked down.
It is not yet known what caused the crash or if any charges will be laid.
The woman was the only person in the car.
A Toronto police officer happened to come across the crash, which is why Toronto police were initially involved. Peel police have taken over the investigation.
This is not the first time a driver has crashed into the concrete wall at the QEW. Back in January, a driver was heading south on Dixie when they plowed into the wall and ended up on the westbound QEW.
