Woman’s husband facing murder charge in Etobicoke death

A 76-year-old woman is dead and her husband is facing a charge of murder after police were called to an Etobicoke home on Wednesday night.
Paramedics were called to the area of Farley Crescent and Callowhill Drive just before 11 p.m. for what was initially termed a medical complaint.
When officers arrived on scene they found Barbara Kovic suffering from severe trauma and was without vital signs. She was eventually pronounced dead by paramedics.
Her death was initially deemed suspicious.
Her 81-year-old husband, Ante Kovic, was found inside the home. He was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Police said he was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
