Police seek suspect who allegedly stole firearm from Mississauga home

Peel Regional police are looking for a man who broke into a Mississauga home and allegedly stole several items including a firearm on Thursday night.

Police say the suspect entered the home on Canyon Street near Dryden Gate between 8 and 9 p.m.

He took several items and fled the scene – including a legally registered Smith and Wesson M&P firearm and an unknown amount of Remington .40 calibre ammunition. Police say the firearm was trigger-locked and properly stored as required by law.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet tall with a thin build and dark eyebrows. Security camera images show he was wearing a hoody and balaclava, jeans, white running shoes and winter gloves at the time.

Anyone with information or dashcam video of the incident is asked to contact Peel police or Crime Stoppers.
