Toronto police located the driver and vehicle responsible for striking a 75-year-old woman in the parking lot of a west end apartment Thursday evening.
Paramedics were called to an apartment building on Dundas Street West at Scarlett Road around 7 p.m. and discovered a woman with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
An investigation has determined that a 75-year-old man in a 2001 Pontiac Montana van was reversing out of a parking space at the building when he struck the woman.
Police say the man drove off but were located a short time later, but did not specify the location.
It’s uncertain if the driver knew he had struck someone or if charges are pending.
