PC Organics baby food recalled due to botulism risk

By News Staff

Loblaw is warning parents to throw out or return a specific batch of PC Organics baby food due to the risk of botulism.

The company has recalled its PC Organics Apple, Blueberry & Green Pea strained baby food, 128 ml, with the UPC 0 60383 06292 7 and a best before date of Oct. 31, 2017.

It may be contaminated with the bacteria Clostridium botulinum which, in infants, can cause constipation, weakness, irritability and other symptoms.

The product is sold across Canada, and the company was alerted to the problem by a customer.

No children have become sick after eating the food.
