Crash causes power outage in south Brampton

The driver of a tractor-trailer crashed into a hydro pole on Wednesday morning, causing a power outage and a road closure in southeast Brampton.

At one point, about 4,910 customers were affected, Hydro One told CityNews. Just before 7 a.m., six customers were without power.

The crash happened on Bramalea Road north of Steeles Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

A section of Bramalea is expected to be shut down until 3 p.m.
