A 21-year-old homeless man has been arrested and charged after a fatal hit-and-run last week.
On the evening of Aug. 15, a man drove a blue Dodge Caravan at high speed onto a sidewalk on George Street, near Gerrard and Jarvis, and struck a man before speeding off.
The victim, identified as Steven Doyle, 27, of no fixed address, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The minivan was later found abandoned in a nearby parking lot, and surveillance video showed the suspect wiping his fingerprints from the vehicle.
On Wednesday, police said they had charged Ayubullo Mohammad-Daud, also of no fixed address, with first-degree murder and he had appeared in an Old City Hall court.
