A Toronto man was among those killed in the EgyptAir crash on Thursday, CityNews has confirmed.
Both the man’s family and the airline say the father of three was on flight MS804, that crashed in the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday.
At the request of the family, CityNews has decided not to reveal the identity of the man, who’s being remembered as a loving husband and father.
An EgyptAir Rep says the man was flying on an Egyptian passport, but was a Canadian Citizen.
At the time of the story, Basma Salama, Media Relations Specialist with EgyptAir, told CityNews the airline hasn’t reached out to the man’s family back in Toronto. The family later confirmed to us that a rep from the airline is supposed to be meeting with them today.
A funeral in absence is expected to take place Monday night at St.Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral Church in Markham. The family is asking for privacy during this time.
