By News staff

Speed and possibly alcohol were involved in a head-on collision, police said. Two people were injured, one of them with life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened around 3:20 a.m. on Monday in the Finch Avenue and Kennedy Road area.

A northbound Honda crossed over the yellow line and slammed head-on into a cube van, police said.

The male passenger in Honda suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda is also hurt but his injuries are not as serious. It appears they were not wearing seat belts, Toronto paramedics say.

The driver will be facing some serious charges, police said.

The driver of van was not hurt.

Southbound Kennedy is closed between Bellbrook Road and Norcap Avenue, which is south of Finch.
