Pedestrian struck, dies at Bathurst and Eglinton

A 21-year-old woman died early Friday morning due to being hit by a vehicle at Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue East.
Police said she was crossing south in a crosswalk around 5:30 a.m. on a green light when run over by fuel tanker truck making a right turn.
According to police, the truck kept going but a witness who was also driving caught up with truck and alerted the driver who then stopped. The truck driver has been taken to hospital for shock.
The intersection is blocked in all directions and is expected to be closed for a few hours.
