The father of murdered Toronto teen has been found dead, police confirm.
Police were looking for Winston “Paul” Reid, 49, after his daughter Simone “Shanni” Reid, 18, was found deceased at her home on Sheppard Avenue near Warden Avenue earlier this month.
Police later determined that she was murdered.
Winston Reid was considered a person of interest in the case.
“We believe that her father would have been the last person, or certainly one of the last people, that was with her in the apartment during the evening hours,” Acting Det. Sgt. Susan Gomes said after the teen’s body was discovered.
On Thursday evening, police said Reid’s body was found inside a vehicle near Kennedy Road and Elgin Mills Road East in Markham on Tuesday.
The cause of death has not been determined but homicide is investigating.
