Two people seriously injured after separate stabbing incidents in Toronto

Toronto police are investigating two separate stabbings on early Sunday morning that sent two people to hospital with serious injuries.

The first incident happened in the area of King Street West and Spadina Avenue around 3:30 a.m.

The victim’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators have yet to release a suspect description.

About an hour later, police were called to St. Clair Avenue East and Birchmount Road for a sound of gunshots call, however when they arrived they discovered another stabbing victim.

Toronto paramedics confirm the victim had a single stab wound and the injury is serious.

Police say they have one person in custody, but there’s no word yet on the age or gender of the victim or suspect.

Witnesses to either incident are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
