Former York police officer accused of sexually assaulting child

A former York Region police officer has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a young girl.

Donald Clark, 65, was an officer from 1974 to 2006. Since 2007, he has been employed by the police as a fleet assistant on a retiree contract.

The alleged assault happened on Oct. 30, the day before Halloween. Police began their investigation on Nov. 3.

Clark’s contract was terminated after his arrest, police said.

Police are searching for more victims and are asking anyone with information to call police.

Clark is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He will appear in court on Wednesday.
