Elderly woman found dead in east-end home

The homicide squad is investigating after an elderly woman was found dead in her east-end home on Wednesday afternoon.
Toronto police were called to the home, near Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East, around 4:30 p.m. for a report of “unknown trouble.”
Witnesses at the scene told 680 NEWS that police officers showed them a broken window, and said someone may have broken into the home.
Police confirmed to CityNews they are looking at robbery as a motive.
The name of the 82-year-old woman has not been released.
