Three people face slew of charges in several GTA robberies, thefts

Toronto police have arrested three people in connection with several robberies and thefts in Toronto and York Region.

Police say two retail store robberies, six street-muggings, a carjacking, and vehicle and property thefts, took place between Sept. 18 and Oct. 3.

The armed suspects used physical force and uttered threats, police say.

The victims suffered a range of injuries.

John Cruz Barros, 22, of no fixed address, and Cassidy Field, 18, of Toronto, each face 11 charges, including eight counts of robbery and possession of a weapon.

Aekwon Murray, 18, of Toronto, has been charged with robbery and wearing a disguise.
