SIU appealing for witnesses after pedestrian struck by Toronto police vehicle

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is asking for the public’s help after a woman was struck by a Toronto Police Service vehicle on Friday afternoon in the downtown core.

The 57-year-old woman suffered serious injuries to her legs after she was struck around 2 p.m. in the area of Richmond and Adelaide streets, according to the SIU.

The woman remains in hospital in stable condition.

The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
