Suspects in Sina Parsi homicide arrested

The two suspects wanted in connection with the murder of Sina Parsi made brief court appearances on Tuesday.

Police said Clyde Marshall, 36, and Sabrina Chouart, 27, were arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Monday at a Walmart in Niagara Falls after shoppers recognized the couple and contacted local authorities.

They face charges of first-degree murder in Parsi’s death. Both were remanded in custody.

The arrest comes a day after police released new security video of Marshall and Chouart entering an apartment building in the Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue area with Parsi shortly after midnight on June 10.

Parsi’s body was found three days later in a unit in the building.

Parsi was last seen leaving a soccer game in the area of Teston Road and Highway 400 at around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

Previously released security footage showed Marshall and Chouart exiting the unit where Parsi’s body was later located just after 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Det. Sgt. Michael Patterson said Marshall has a history of violence and has been known to carry a knife.

Police said they believed the couple may have been out of money and believed people may be assisting them. Patterson warned that anyone offering food or shelter to the fugitives could face charges.

Investigators have not said how Parsi died and would not comment on how the victim and the suspects may have known each other.
