Man seriously injured in Whitby hit-and-run

Police in Whitby are looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run investigation after a pedestrian was seriously injured on Saturday night.
Officers were called to Mary and Pine streets around 11:30 p.m. after a 31-year-old man was struck.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the collision.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital in Oshawa before being transferred to a Toronto trauma centre, where he remains in serious condition.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a white General Motors pickup or SUV with damage to the front end.
