TORONTO – The David Foster Foundation has announced a fall fundraising gala in Toronto.

The charity institution founded by the decorated Victoria-raised music producer will hold a gala and concert at the Mattamy Athletic Centre within Maple Leaf Gardens on Sept. 26.

Although guests have yet to be announced, the foundation’s last function in Calgary drew in a star-studded cast including Steven Tyler, Kenneth (Babyface) Edmonds, Jennifer Hudson, Jackie Evancho and Foster’s wife, Yolanda, along with the rest of the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The event raised more than $8 million, organizers said.

The organization has also named “Dragons’ Den” expert Jim Treliving as honorary chair for the Toronto event.

Founded in 1986, the David Foster Foundation raises money to support the non-medical expenses of Canadian families with children undergoing or awaiting life-saving organ transplants.

Foster, 65, has won 16 Grammys, seven Junos, an Emmy and a Golden Globe while fetching three Oscar nominations for collaborations with stars including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli.

Tables of 10 for the event are available for $20,000 or $30,000, with an additional 3,000 arena seats available for individual purchase.
