3 sought in violent armed robbery of west-end convenience store

Toronto police have released security camera footage in connection with a violent armed robbery at a convenience store in Toronto.

The incident occurred in the Eglinton Avenue West and Locksley Avenue area, near Dufferin Street, on Dec. 11, 2014.

Police say three men, two of them armed with shotguns, entered the store and one of them jumped the counter towards the store clerk.

The man, who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, allegedly demanded she open the safe, while pointing the weapon to her head and jabbing her with it.

Police say the man fired the shotgun, but it missed the victim by a narrow margin.

While the robbery was taking place, other customers were forced to the ground as their cellphones were being stolen.

The three men took off with the money from the safe and fled the scene.

Police describe the suspects as black, in their mid-20s, and they were wearing dark face coverings and white gloves at the time.
