Suspect may have injury from Richmond Hill sex assault

York regional police say a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in Richmond Hill last week may have been injured during the incident.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, the woman got off a bus at Yonge Street and Bernard Avenue, north of Elgin Mills Road, and soon after the man approached.

It’s alleged he demanded money before sexually assaulting her. She was treated in hospital.

Police believe the man may have injured his right hand during the attack and said it may still be visible.

He has a medium skin tone, is five-foot-eight to five-foot-11, with a thin build and was wearing dark-coloured clothing, a maroon or brown jacket and a grey ski mask.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-866-876-5423 (ext. 7071) or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
