Shooting at Scarborough bar leaves 1 man seriously injured

Toronto police say a man is in serious condition in hospital after he was shot in both of his legs at a Scarborough bar.

The incident occurred at 2 Jerks Bar and Grill on Warden Avenue, south of Eglinton Avenue East, around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

“The victim fled the shooting scene on foot, onto Warden Avenue, where he was located by our officers,” Insp. Richard Hegedus said.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person that may have been involved in the incident that they say fled from the scene in a vehicle. No description of that person or of the vehicle was available.

So far, no arrests have been made.

In June, police investigated another shooting outside the same bar, where a man was also shot in the leg.

The man turned up at a Scarborough hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Police have yet to release a suspect description in that case.
