Man dies after struck by vehicle near Dawes & Victoria Park

A 61-year-old man is dead after being after being struck by a car in the city’s east end.
The incident happened at the intersection of Dawes Road and Gower Street, just west of Victoria Park Avenue, at around 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say the man was crossing Dawes at the north end of the intersection when he was struck by a Cadillac turned left.
The man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There has been no word on charges against the 40-year-old driver of the car.
The area was closed off for the police investigation, but has since reopened.
