CBC anchor Knowlton Nash to be remembered at funeral in Toronto Wednesday

TORONTO – Veteran CBC broadcaster Knowlton Nash will be remembered today at a funeral in Toronto.

Nash died last Saturday at the age of 86 following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He had a 37-year career with the public broadcaster, including a decade as anchor of “The National,” CBC’s flagship news program.

During his years as anchor between 1978 and 1988, “The National” became an unassailable jewel in the CBC’s line-up.

Current anchor Peter Mansbridge has said that Nash “felt like family to his audience.”

The funeral will be held at Grace Church on the Hill at 2 p.m. ET and will be open to the public.
