A motion on whether to excuse Mayor Rob Ford from this week’s council meeting passed unanimously at city hall on Thursday.
Councillors voted 25-0 on the routine motion to “excuse absentees.”
If the mayor or any council members miss three meetings in a row without permission, their seat is declared vacant.
The council meeting, which ran from Tuesday to Thursday, was the first since Ford announced last week he was taking a leave to deal with an alcohol problem.
