5 in hospital after fire at Campbellville bed & breakfast

Five people have been taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a Campbellville bed and breakfast on Tuesday night.

The fire began at Maranatha Log House, at 125 Main St. S. south of Highway 401, near Milton, around 11:20 p.m.

Three of the people taken to hospital were guests of the hotel, including an off-duty Halton police officer who is friends with the owner.

The other two people are the owners of the bed and breakfast.

All five are in stable condition in hospital.

The bed and breakfast was completely destroyed in the massive fire.

It’s not yet known what caused the fire or the cost of the damage.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
