Barrie woman dies after Hwy. 400 crash

A 51-year-old Barrie woman has died after a crash on Highway 400 on Wednesday morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., a tractor-trailer rear-ended a cube truck in the southbound lanes near Innisfil Beach Road as traffic slowed for a crash ahead. The cube truck then went through the centre guardrail and collided with a Honda Civic and minivan in the northbound lanes. Two other southbound vehicles also got caught up in the crash.

The driver of the minivan, now identified as Karron Derbyshire, was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in downtown Toronto.

The OPP revealed on Friday morning that she had died.
