Chow decision on Toronto mayoral run expected in March: report

With former provincial PC leader John Tory and former TTC chair Karen Stintz now officially entered in Toronto’s mayoral race, it’s still not yet known if NDP MP Olivia Chow will follow suit.

According to reports, her decision on whether or not she will run for mayor is expected sometime in March.

On Tuesday, Chow told 680News in Ottawa that she is not ready to talk about her mayoral intentions.

There are reports that she has promised her supporters that she’ll decide about entering the race in the next few weeks.

In a statement, Chow said she is “seriously considering running” against Mayor Rob Ford, but after multiple requests, 680News has been told she isn’t doing interviews about the Toronto mayoralty race.

Chow has returned to her MP role in Ottawa after the parliamentary break.
