Freezing rain warning ends for southern Ontario

Environment Canada has lifted its freezing rain warning for southern Ontario, but it continues for parts of eastern Ontario, Wednesday.

The warning was issued by Environment Canada on Wednesday morning for a large swath of the province, including York, Durham, Dufferin, Barrie and Orillia.

It remains in effect for:

  • Renfrew – Pembroke – Barry’s Bay
  • Deep River – Whitney – Eastern Algonquin Park

Freezing rain is expected Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning for those parts of eastern Ontario, the weather agency said.

According to the forecast, temperatures in Toronto and the GTA will rise throughout day with a high near 11 C by Thursday morning

There were some school bus cancellations in parts of southern Ontario due to the inclement weather.
