Police warn public of online “pardon” scam”

TORONTO- Toronto Police are warning the public about a “pardon” scam. Investigators have said it involves an online company listed as “Federal Pardons Canada,” that advertises services for processing pardons and waivers to enter the U.S.A for a small fee.

Police have said the scam usually begins with the company calling prospective clients to arrange money and identification to be sent to them. Sometimes, a meeting is scheduled to deliver the documents in person.

Once the exchange is made, police said the company cuts off communication with the client and no pardon is received.

Anyone who has any information about the company, or has been affected by the scam, is being asked to call police
