Dry, warm weather expected for Thanksgiving long weekend

TORONTO – You will be thankful for the Thanksgiving long weekend forecast — sunshine and an expected above-average 17 C, says 680News’ meteorologist.

A rainy, gloomy Monday will pave the way for a warmer-than-average long weekend.

“We’re in for a great stretch of weather. Plenty of sunshine Tuesday right through to the long weekend,” 680News meteorologist Jill Taylor says.

She says the early outlook points to dry and above-average long weekend weather.

“At least at this point. As we move through the week, there may be some changes to the forecast but right now it looks just fantastic.”

Taylor says it is a welcome change to last year’s Thanksgiving weekend weather.

“Last year, not so fantastic. It was rather cloudy and cooler and there were even some flurries reported in the Shelburne area last year for Thanksgiving.”

One veteran 680News Insider Club member has a lot to be thankful for Monday.

680News missed the weather guarantee Sunday, so Mak Nasralla of Milton, Ont. is $3,800 richer.

“Well, that’s good news definitely,” he said.

Showers are expected to last much of Monday with a high near 15 C.
