Two dead after accident near Fogal Rd. and Hwy. 50 in Brampton

Peel Region police responded to a call near Hwy. 50 and Stouville Rd. at approximately 9 p.m. where two vehicles collided violently in the southbound Highway 50 lane.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries but in a state of shock.

“The four people in the other vehicle, the male driver, male adult driver was deceased at the scene. The female adult passenger was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening, or what appear right now non life threatening,” Police Const. Fiona Thivierge told 680News.

“One of the children in the vehicle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where they very sadly succumbed to their injuries. The second child in the vehicle was airlifted to Sick Kids downtown Toronto with life threatening injuries.”

Police are investigating the scene of the crash and speaking to witnesses.

“They will be doing a lot of measurements and a lot of interviews to determine what colour the lights were at the time of the impact. Because that type of thing has an effect on what the outcome is.”

Details of how the accident happened are unclear at this time but police have said, “it appears that the vehicle with the victims, possibly did a turn and was struck by the southbound vehicle.”

The area is closed to traffic as police investigate.
