Local musician writes song about Leafs’ ex-GM Brian Burke

TORONTO, Ont. – You really know that you’ve made it when someone writes a ballad about you, and that’s the case with the recently-fired Toronto Maple Leafs’ president and general manager.
The country-inspired tribute, “The Ballad of Brian Burke,” is by local musician Wray Ellis.

He figures Burke should be just fine in his post Leafs’ life. “Someone else’s problem now,” Ellis sings.
Ellis reminds us that Burke was often at his grumpiest when dealing with the media.
“I’m going to miss these daily scrums, making mince meat of you bums” Ellis adds.
