Well, in this society you as a driver is guilty until proven guilty…
Pedestrians are so ignorant that it is amazing. How many times I see them crossing the street engrossed in their electronic garbage. Like world rotates around and because of them. But is is fun to sneak close to them and sit on the horn! Oh as they JUMP!
People are terrible spoiled in Canada.
What continues to puzzle me is the lack of attention by both drivers and pedestrians nowadays. Simple eye contact doesn’t take place anymore. We worship our our gps’, ipods, smartphones….etc and yet we quickly point the finger at somebody else when clearly it’s the responsibility of BOTH the driver and pedestrian to keep each other safe! A full ban of any hand-held device in public would not only help save lives, it would actually get people making eye contact once again – but of course that’s just rediculous.
What makes you assume it was the driver’s fault?! Just yesterday I had to abruptly stop for a pedestrian who decided to walk against the red light (I was turning right…made my proper stop…even eyed the fellow. He just decided since I was going to make my right, he was going to walk in front of me. I didn’t hit him thank goodness…because I was aware that he was there). Pedestrians need to pay more attention to what’s going on around them and STOP thinking they run the roads.
