RBC gets top grades for online banking among Canadian big banks

TORONTO, Ont. – Canada’s biggest bank, the Royal Bank of Canada, is getting praise for its online services for the third year in a row according to according to an analysis of banking sites in Canada.

Surviscor’s 2012 Canadian Online Banking scorCard gave RBC a score of 84 percent rating it as the most functional and user-friendly banking site in the country.

“RBC led the charge again because they continuously enhance the customer’s online banking experience, illustrated by industry leading performance in measurements of customer support” said Glenn LaCoste, president of Surviscor.

TD Bank came second with a score of 80. Followed by Scotiabank with a score of 76. BMO and CIBC had scores of 73 and 68 respectively.

The annual study simulates customer usage to measure over 2000 criteria, including website design and transaction volumes.
