Menthol cigarettes may increase stroke risk, research finds

Smokers now have one more reason to quit.
New research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows people who smoke menthol cigarettes are more than twice as likely to suffer a stroke, compared to those who smoke non-menthols.
According to experts, it’s unclear why menthols pose a greater risk of stroke, but do not increase other smoking-related illnesses, like lung problems or lung diseases.
