Aboriginal buying power is on the rise … that’s according to a report by  the Toronto Dominion Bank and Canadian Centre for Aboriginal Business.

Obesity rates in the Aboriginal community are slightly higher than mainstream..but like the rest of the mainstream population, those rates are higher in rural communities. Also, Aboriginal women with higher incomes were are less likely to be obese, but that’s not the same for men.

Aboriginal seniors in Winnipeg will be able to receive very culturally relevant programming and services at the brand new Aboriginal seniors home in the city, which opened its doors on National Aboriginal Day.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada has launched a new website aimed at improving sexual health in Aboriginal communities.

And Kids Help Phone will be also be offering more culturally appropriate counseling to Aboriginal youth after receiving important awareness training.
