TORONTO – Spending the night or weekend at a friend’s place is about to become easier.
The city is creating two new parking permits allowing drivers to leave vehicles at the curb for 24 to 48 hours.
The 24-hour “Overnighter” permit will cost $8, while the 48-hour “Weekender” permit would $12.
Currently the city only offers a 7-day permit, which has been a lucrative financial tool. A city report said 118,000 temporary passes were bought in 2010, raking in over $2-million.
All permits would be available online by the summer, once city council approves the new passes. Click here for more information.
