BARRIE, Ont. – Employees at a Barrie thrift store uncovered hand grenades while organizing a donation bin Thursday morning.
The Wellington Street store was evacuated while specialized officers examined the bin and secured the scene.
Police confirmed they were real grenades, but the explosive pins had been removed, rendering them harmless.
Investigators said if the suspect who made the donation can be identified, charges will be laid.
