Northbound DVP re-opens at Lawrence Avenue East after accident

TORONTO, Ont. – All lanes of the northbound Don Valley Parkway have re-opened at Lawrence Avenue East after a multi-vehicle crash, Thursday.
The closure lasted about seven hours.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, and one vehicle was almost completely crushed.
The accident happened just before midnight when a vehicle stopped in the middle lane on the northbound DVP because of mechanical problems.
Toronto Traffic Services Const. Hugh Smith told 680News it was a chain-reaction crash.
Const. Smith said there was an 18-year-old girl in the backseat of one vehicle, which had its back-end almost smashed in. The girl suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
Two other people were also taken to hospital.
