About Cormac

Cormac has covered wide-ranging events in his career– from the day-to-day on Parliament Hill to the Juno Awards, the Calgary Stampede, Canada Day with Prince William and Kate Middleton, the funeral of late NDP leader Jack Layton and many provincial & federal elections. He’s also interviewed Prime Ministers Stephen Harper, Paul Martin, Jean Chretien and John Turner, musicians Michael Buble, Tom Cochrane, Corb Lund, & Anne Murray, his hockey hero Theoren Fleury, and his favourite wrestler Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Cormac grew up in Toronto and graduated from the Radio Broadcasting Program at Humber College. He started his professional career at 680News in Toronto before moving to Medicine Hat. After a brief stint there, he traveled west to Calgary where he worked as a reporter at 660News for several years. In October 2010, Cormac was hired as the Parliament Hill reporter at the launch of 1310News. He is currently also Parliament Hill reporter for CityNews, and other Rogers news radio stations right across the country including 680News, News1130, 660News, 570News, News95.7, News88.9, and News91.9. Cormac is a big hockey fan who cheers for the Flames and his home town Leafs. He enjoys many different types of music and is proud of his Irish roots.
