About Alex

I've worn plenty of hats at CityNews 680 since being hired in the fall of 2015 and continue to be a utility infielder for the team, to borrow a baseball analogy. I had to be converted to city life, growing up on a farm just outside Ilderton, Ontario before attending Ryerson University's RTA School of Media. I enjoy covering both sports and political stories, particularly analyzing results as they come in on election nights. Outside the newsroom, I keep a foot in the sports world as a Public Address Announcer. Currently, I have the privilege of announcing games for Toronto FC and Team Canada Soccer (when Canada's teams play at BMO Field). I remain a diehard Leafs fan, despite the pain, and look forward to being part of the coverage of that long-awaited parade. My wife and I live on the west side of the downtown with our daughters, where I also serve as a pastor of a Baptist church. You can hear Alex anchoring from the newsroom or reporting from the field at all hours of the day.
