2 arrested after man stabbed in attempted dog theft in Vaughan

Two people have been arrested after an attempted dognapping ended in a stabbing in Vaughan.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Crooked Stick Road, in the Glen Shields Avenue and Dufferin Street area, around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police in York Region, a male and female showed up at the victim’s home to discuss a dog he had put up for sale online.

The suspects then attempted to steal the dog and an altercation broke out ending in the victim being stabbed. A female was also assaulted and her phone was taken.

The suspects fled the scene without the dog. The dog was not injured in the dispute.

York police say they have arrested both suspects, a male and female, in the incident and charges will be laid.
