Toronto Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward as the investigation into a fatal crash in Etobicoke continues.
It happened around 4:12 p.m. at Carlingview Drive and Constellation Court in the Dixon Road and Highway 427 area.
Police say a 65-year-old man was driving a Ford Edge south on Carlingview Drive, near Constellation Court at a high rate of speed.
The SUV drifted into oncoming lanes, hit the curb and became airborne before hitting two parked vehicles and a building.
The SUV was completely destroyed and a 65-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver died in the hospital.
Police believe excessive speed was likely a factor.
They are asking residents, businesses and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident to contact them.
One man, one woman killed in a horrible crash on Carlingview Drive. Toronto Police will need several hours to investigate, but tell @680NEWS it already appears speed was a factor. pic.twitter.com/W3gG0Zf0QQ
