Human remains found in Vaughan, York police say

By News Staff

York police say human remains have been found near a Vaughan intersection.

Police said officers found the remains when they searching an area of Keele Street, north of Kirby Road on May 19th.

The remains were sent to a lab and were confirmed to be human, police said.

The search of the Keele Street area was part of an investigation, but police did elaborate on which case the remains might be connected to.

“The Office of the Chief Coroner has been contacted,” police said in a news release Tuesday. “Further testing will be conducted to attempt to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.”

There is no threat to public safety at this time, police added.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police directly. Tips can also be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
