Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre has opened up COVID-19 vaccine appointments for children aged 12 to 17 with a highest-risk, high-risk or at-risk health condition.

All adults with these conditions also remain eligible for an appointment.

Adults who live in a COVID-19 hotspot neighbourhood in Toronto can also book a first dose vaccine appointment at Sunnybrook. You must bring proof of residential address to your appointment.

Appointments are only for the first dose of the vaccine and Sunnybrook’s vaccine clinic does not offer walk-ins.

This pop-up is specifically for students over 12 years old and families attending John Polanyi CI, Glen Park PS, Baycrest PS, Flemington PS and Lawrence Heights Middle School.

Students in Grade 9 to 12 and their families will be slotted for vaccinations between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Students in Grade 6 to 8 who are 12 years old on the date of vaccination will be slotted between 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This comes as Ontario expands COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to anyone 18 and older beginning Tuesday.

Starting Tuesday morning, eligible people will be able to book at mass immunization clinics through the province’s online booking portal, or directly through public health units that use their own booking system.

The province initially said they hoped to open appointments to all adults starting May 24, but were able to move that up due to an influx of vaccine supply.

Canada is getting an additional 1.4 million shots, which were originally slated to land next week but are now expected to arrive before the Victoria Day long weekend.
