Peel launches vaccine stand-by list to ensure no doses go to waste

Peel Region has launched a vaccine stand-by list to ensure that all doses are used up at the end of each day at Peel Public Health clinics.
The region says while the doses taken out of storage are closely matched to appointments for the day, there may be a few extra vaccines left because of no-shows or cancellations.
The vaccine stand-by list is only for Peel residents who have not received their first COVID-19 vaccine and who are currently eligible. Individuals must be able to get to a Peel Public Health clinic within 15 to 30 minutes of being contacted.
The list will only hold 300 names each week and signing up does not guarantee that someone will be called in.
