The York Regional police human trafficking section has charged an off-duty Toronto police officer.
It’s alleged the cop called a woman last Wednesday, on March 31, to set up a meeting at a hotel for sexual services.
The victim says when he arrived, he had a gun and told her he was a police officer.
The suspect was identified and he was arrested on A pril 2.
On Thursday, investigators announced that 37-year-old Travis Houston of Georgina is facing three charges including obtaining sexual services for consideration,
possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief.
Officers confirmed that the accused is an off-duty Toronto police officer and that the force has been notified.
Houston worked out of 41 Division and has been on the job for two years.
He’s been suspended with pay.
Investigators are concerned there may be other victims and they’re asking anyone who knows anything to come forward.
