Toronto Raptors still missing five players due to health and safety protocols

By The Canadian Press

The Toronto Raptors will be missing five players due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols for the third game in a row on Thursday.

Starters Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, and OG Anunoby will not be available against the visiting Atlanta Hawks, as well as Malachi Flynn and Patrick McCaw.

All five were out for two games last week before the all-star break.

The Raptors also say guard Terence Davis is questionable for the game in Tampa, Fla., because of a left ankle sprain.

Coach Nick Nurse has reportedly been cleared, and the Raptors tweeted a photo with Nurse in it captioned “Back at it,” after he and six other members missed time due to health and safety protocols.

Assistant coach Sergio Scariolo served as head coach for both games last week.

The Raptors enter tomorrow’s game with a 17-19 record.

On Wednesday, the team signed forward Henry Ellenson to a 10-day contract.

The 24-year-old former first-round draft pick is coming off a nice season with the Raptors G-League affiliate, the Raptors 905, during which he played 15 games and averaged 21.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
