Warm stretch of spring-like weather kicks off today for Toronto, GTA

By News Staff

Monday morning made for a chilly start to the week with freezing rain in some areas of the GTA but the winter air won’t stick around for long.

A warm stretch of spring-like weather begins on Monday for Southern Ontario with double-digit temperatures expected later in the week.

680 NEWS meteorologist Jill Taylor says temperatures will be well above seasonal by Monday afternoon as we climb to a guaranteed high of 8 degrees with double-digits possible. The average high this time of year is 3 degrees.

“We’ll try to crack the 10 degree mark this week and I think we’ll do it for Wednesday and Thursday” says Taylor.

Another high near 10 degrees for Tuesday and then we could see temperatures reach 13 for Wednesday and Thursday.

The last time Toronto cracked 10 degrees was Nov. 29.
